The YIA Art Fair #09 will be held in Brussels, Belgium at the Square Meeting Centre from 20th to 23rd of April, 2017. Blanc Art is honored to present four uprising artists: Choi Su Weng, Yang Kai, Omar Saadoune and Silvère Jarrosson. Four artists with different interpretation of the Metaphysical in the art world; Inviting the audience to explore the unknown through their work.

Born in the 50’s, Macanese artist Choi Su Weng has been engaging in oil painting throughout the years, from early figurative still life to the later abstract landscape, Choi is an artist with his peculiar language; rooted in the combination of modern Western painting concept and oriental art aesthetic, his exploration rewards him the unique beautifully infusion of traditional Chinese ink poetic charm and picturesque grace. The distinctive colour arrangement scheme draws from Chinese seal engraving and calligraphy, which creates base on traditional Chinese painting aesthetic. Choi’s subtle works implicitly contain the artist’s broad worldview and in-depth reflects of the reality.

Using the fluidity of the Chinese traditional ink drawings and the contemporary influenced composition, Yang Kai seeks an individualized manner to define and present his judgments and emotions toward culture. In this ever-changing digital age, a lot of traditions and heritage are fading; using traditional Chinese Ink paintings, Kai examines the relationship between the old and new; emphasizing on the idea of heritage, Kai’s work promotes the traditional Art. Being educated in the U.K., western influences are clearly traceable in Kai’s work, and it is precisely that unique combination of diversity that gave Kai’s work the charisma.

Omar Saadoune is an Artist from Larache, Morocco. Saadoune produced work in a variety of media includes painting, multi-media, performance and installation art. Born in Morocco, a country with dizzily vibrant culture, Saadoune developed a great interest for art and its different forms of expression; his work employs a unique combination of spots and line; using drip-paint technique, everything is given a new forms and definitions. His critically acclaimed short film “Silent Dreams” took the Art circles by storm and has won numerous awards, such as the jury prize at the International Amateur Film Festival of Kelibia (FIFAK) in 2009. In November 2016, one of his pieces was collected by The Tetouan Centre of Modern Art.

Silvère Jarrosson graduated from the Paris Opera Ballet School and studied directly with the great painter Wilmer Herrison. His ballet root heavily influenced his later artworks, the physical movement of dancing became one of the main inspirations of his acrylic works. Through the dripping technique he has developed, the artist creates a unique and abstract scenery on the canvas. Akin to action-painting, his works are based on the precise knowledge of the physical reactions of the paint, his magnificent pieces have been exhibited and collected not only in France but internationally.

Blanc Art proudly presents the finely selected artworks of four artists: Choi Su Weng, Yang Kai, Omar Saadoune and Silvère Jarrosson. Coming from different parts of the globe and artistic backgrounds, the artists’ works all revolved around a common theme – Metaphysical. Using different media, the artists demonstrate a hyper-physical view, whether by reinventing the existing kind or exploring the unknown. The four artists interpret the Metaphysical in their own way, all leaving the audiences with a wide space for imagination. Their works provoke the audiences’ point of view on the current world; encouraging the audiences to break free from the habit of inertial thinking, leading them to another spiritual level.
